The Foundation was established by trust deed dated 16 March 1983.  The registered number is 326340.
 
Principal object 
The Charity's principal object is to make grants and donations for the benefit of a wide range of charitable purposes including welfare, education, the arts, heritage and religion. See the Grants Report for further information.
 
The Foundation’s primary source of income is gift aid donations from the Mercers’ Company. (£7m in 04/05) .
