Award-winning short film raises awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

We are delighted to have funded Speech & Language UK to produce a short film raising the awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), a diagnosis given to children and young people who have life-long difficulties with talking and understanding words.

The film ‘Darcie’s story’ was produced by capacity builder Media Trust which also provided training, mentoring and partnership opportunities to Speech and Language UK. The film went on to win an award from the ‘Raising Awareness Developmental Language Disorder’ International Committee, and was picked up by organisations worldwide, from the Disabled Children’s Partnership UK to Language Disorder Australia.

This project was funded by the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington and the Mercers’ Charitable Foundation (MCF).
